Ingredients
- 9 Tomatoes
- 300 grams (1 Cup) Minced Beef
- 100 grams (1/2 Cup) Diced Bacon
- 1/2 Cup (2 Stems), Diced Fresh Celery
- 25 grams (1 small) Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 250 grams (1/3 Cup) Tomato Sauce
- 115 grams (1/2 Cup) Heavy Cream
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Oregano
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Marjoram
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all of your ingredients beforehand.
Step 2
For Bolognese Sauce, dice your onion, garlic, bacon, and celery.
Step 3
Start with your onion and garlic. Place them into a cooking pot sprinkled with olive oil and caramelize for few minutes.
Step 4
Once caramelized, add bacon and minced meat, mix and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Add diced fresh celery, herbs, salt & pepper, and mix and cook for another 10 minutes.
Step 6
As of last add tomato sauce and heavy cream and fully combine.
Step 7
Cover with the lid and cook for approximately 40 minutes at a medium temperature.
Step 8
Cut top or the head of each tomato. Do not throw it as you will use it later to close the tomato.
Step 9
Using a small spoon, hollow out each of the tomatoes.
Step 10
Scoop out all of the seeds as well as all the liquid, which will avoid tomatoes being too watery after baking.
Step 11
Again, using your spoon, fill each of the tomatoes with bolognese sauce up to the top of the cut tomato.
Step 12
Top it up with Grated Cheese.
Step 13
Bake in the oven at 200C or 400F for approximately 30 minutes.
Notes
Portions – After having the meal and because of using 3 beefsteak tomatoes and 3 medium tomatoes, I have split the whole recipe into 9 portions.
Herbs – if you would like to sprinkle your stuffed tomatoes recipe with herbs, I would suggest doing that step only once the tomatoes are already baked. Herbs will burn in the oven very easily and pretty quickly.
Baking – You can choose to bake those Keto Stuffed Tomatoes either in the oven, on your Grill, or on an Air Fryer.
